If I see another news item showing a clip of a person getting a jab, I’ll spit.
As much as I’m keen on not being locked down – and I’m looking forward to seeing my kids and grand kids, I think it’s important to remember that 80% single vaxxed New South Welshpeople means that there will be over a million people in NSW including kids under 12 – ALL of whom have the potential to be Covid infected and infective in the community. (So do we, vaxxed people. It’s just unlikely that we’ll get very sick).
Let’s take a wildly optimistic guess that only 5% unvaxxed people will get infected = 20,000 and that only 5% of these end up in IC = 1,000 seriously sick people.
Did you know that NSW recently published the fact that 47% of people currently in intensive care (IC) are unvaccinated – and ALL the people on ventilators (which means they are seriously up shit creek) are unvaccinated.
This will put a massive massive strain on the whole health system in our state. FM works at a large private hospital (600 beds) and they are gearing up for a huge influx of Covid patients six weeks on from doing what Victoria did easing the lockdown and remember that that resulted in nearly 2,000 infections a day. So my guesses above could be WAAAY under the reality.
Let’s hope I’m wrong.
I’m not saying that NSW should continue being locked down like Fort Knox, but do take care brothers and sisters – and vax up to the eyeballs.

I had my hair cut this morning. Hairdresser rang me as I was his first appointment on the day Sydney went into lockdown, Mrs A had hers too. He told me that he was getting calls from potential new clients who’s hairdresser has gone broke and won’t be reopening during the past week. While we were there the phone did not stop ringing.
Mrs A and I observe that in each state each Premier from their populace can do no wrong apparently and oppositions are virtually non existent as the oxygen is sucked out of them by the MSM. Thing is they are all populists, doesn’t matter the colour.
But they step into the void created by the Feds and Scotty the Stupid who seems more interested in getting reelected than doing his job. As the hairdresser said (a Liberal voter) what is the point of him, he’s not the person he thought he was.
Also notice anything Binchook said a month ago, there is a pile on about how bad or how irresponsible etc but when Andrews does or says the same thing 4 to 5 weeks later given that’s how far behind NSW they are, its consider inspired and measured.
It’s as though most cannot see beyond their own political blinkers. Unfuckingbelieveable!!!
But Binchook has gone and Let er Rip Parrothead is now making a tit of himself.
I’ve seen my father once since the lockdown, he’s had two brief trips to hospital in that time, he turned 90 last month, at least we could have a picnic in the freezing cold the week after. I’ve missed two funerals, a former direct report and an friend from my youth, both in their 50s. Safety is important. Time with Dad tomorrow.
One day we might get back to being one country again. One day we might be able to go west without Richard Swinger the Mayor of WA shutting his borders or his parrot Doctor saying the same thing a Dick a few ours later. Ignores the fact that his health system is diabolical and in a worse state than NSW without COVID than NSW is with it. Ignores that it is not coping now. It’s the real reason his borders are shut, more important to point to freedoms, be provincial and play to the locals. Best to hurl abuse from afar.
Same for Queensland. It’s the inability for people to travel interstate on compassionate grounds. We can’t go west. A mate in Queensland can’t come south to be with his 93 year old father in poor health and his mother with dimension. In the meantime there are 11000 people camping waiting to be allowed into Queensland.
This delusion that they can stay closed forever, that they can somehow stop the virus, yet not vaccinate their population and ignore their First Nations people and not vaccinate them, well its a Federal Responsibility but still other states are stepping in.
More important to party like its 2020 and push freedoms than vaccinate its people.
For all of that though it will be nice to go somewhere further than 5 kilometres away and know I’m reasonably safe given I’m doubly vaxed.

I despair about Australian politics at all levels.
FM works with a bloke who has contacts in local government. Apparently people from the Gladys camp were being removed even at the local government level a week before the big P got the nod. Freedom day FFS !
I’m rarely up for a good conspiracy theory, but Scummo seems to be engineering a Christian right version of Trumpism. I worry that Albo hasn’t got the stuff to remove the count – and who even knows anybody in NSW Labor ? They couldn’t cut through ice cream with a blow torch.
I do think the Pig’s Arms has a role to play in reminding Australia of all the shit that’s happened since Scummo took the reins. It’s a very long list – and issues like Me-Too seem to have drifted off the radar to the extent that women’s activists in NSW had better start planning to have abortions in Victoria or Qld.
If there’s one thing more repulsive than right wingers, it’s Christian right wingers. The ultimate privileged hypocrisy. Fuck the lot of them.

I agree. I find him really scary. He takes his instructions from a non-existent God at worst – or a minor God at best. And he has that mad Trumpian look but with less expensive duds . And SIX kids. FFS, Yvonne, has he never heard of the planet groaning under the weight of too many people ?
It’s a different form of malfeasance. Smiling self-righteous malice. Disgusting. It makes me want to vomit.
